About the design
Up in the bell tower of a Northumberland village church, a team of red squirrels has taken charge of the Christmas bells. Two are hard at work on the beam and one has grabbed the bell rope and is swinging on it with total commitment, while the snowy village glows through the arched window below. It's called Jingle Squirrels.
Northumberland is one of the last strongholds of the red squirrel in England, along with places like the Lake District, Formby, Anglesey, Brownsea Island and the Isle of Wight; Scotland has most of Britain's reds. They don't hibernate. Instead they spend the autumn burying and hiding seeds and nuts, then spend the winter finding them again, or not. In winter their coats thicken and the tufts on their ears grow longer, which is the look we've given them here.
This is a lovely card for anyone who has spotted a red squirrel on holiday and talked about it for weeks, for families in the North East and Scotland, and for supporters of red squirrel conservation. It also makes a good pair with the hedgehog card if you're after a British wildlife theme.
What's in the pack

Each pack contains 10 copies of Jingle Squirrels: 5 × 7 inch (127 × 178 mm) gloss greeting cards printed on 280gsm card, each with “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year” printed inside and its own kraft envelope. The pack is £16.99 and UK delivery is free.
Every pack is printed to order by our printer here in the UK and sent by standard post. Most orders arrive within about a week, and Etsy shows a delivery estimate for your postcode before you buy. For Christmas, we suggest ordering by 14 December; that's a provisional date, so earlier is safer. Sending your cards yourself? Our guide to last posting dates for Christmas 2026 has the Royal Mail deadlines.
